Allegiant Air is a Las Vegas-based carrier that primarily focuses on holiday travel and smaller regional airports. With its current fleet of 81 aircraft, the airline serves 117 destinations with both scheduled and charter flights. Tickets are typically cheap, making the carrier a good budget option if you happen to live in an area it serves.
Allegiant offers vacation package deals, including hotels and car rentals, as part of its online booking system. Major holiday destinations served by the airline include Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Las Vegas, San Francisco (Oakland), Myrtle Beach, St. Petersburg and Branson. Allegiant is phasing out its service to Honolulu due to the high maintenance costs of its aging fleet of Boeing 757s.
Allegiant does not have a traditional frequent flyer program. The only way you can earn and use points is with the carrier’s co-branded credit card, the Allegiant World MasterCard issued by Bank of America.

The Allegiant World MasterCard is essentially a cash back card that allows you to redeem points toward statement credits for purchases made from the airline. Since the airline offers vacation packages, you can use your points for not only airfare, but also hotels and car rentals.
Allegiant is a low-cost carrier and will charge you for everything. That means that you’ll have to pay extra for checked and carry-on bags, beverages, seat assignments, priority boarding, etc. Those charges can be paid for with points.

Allegiant’s redemptions are based on the cash price of the fare, and each point is worth one cent. So you’ll need 11,000 points to buy a $110 ticket. In other words, you’ll never get a great or terrible deal on an award flight because you’ll always pay the market value.
If you have the Allegiant card, which you must in order to participate in its loyalty program, you can get a free companion ticket every time you book an itinerary that includes at least four nights at a hotel or a car rental of at least seven days.
Allegiant’s tickets are cheap. If the carrier flies the route you want, they’re likely to have the most affordable tickets. Keep in mind, though, that you’ll probably end up paying more than the base fare because of added fees.
Carry-on and checked bags cost between $10 and $75 each, depending on the route and when you pay. It’s a lot cheaper if you pay for a bag when you buy your ticket. You’ll save between $25 and $40.
Allegiant has only one class of service and does not offer elite status. In fact, you can’t even earn points by flying.
Associated Credit Cards
The only way to participate in Allegiant’s loyalty program is by getting its co-branded credit card, the Allegiant World MasterCard from Bank of America. The $59 annual fee is not waived, but you’ll get a 15,000-point sign-up bonus that’s worth $150 in Allegiant purchases.
