Double Miles on New Routes From Alaska Airlines

Alaska Airlines serves more than 92 destinations in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, including several smaller Alaskan locations that are inaccessible by road. The West Coast carrier continues to expand, too, extending its coverage by offering new nonstop flights.

Members of Alaska’s Mileage Plan program can receive double miles for flying these new routes, as well as 1,000 miles for weekend retreats at Starwood Hotels & Resorts. The new nonstop flights are between Los Angeles and Costa Rica, Seattle and New York, and Los Angeles and Baltimore.

Alaska is offering two new nonstop routes to Costa Rica

Alaska will now whisk customers between Los Angeles and Costa Rica via nonstop flights. You can be zip lining through the trees in no time. Make sure you register online in advance of booking your flight to receive double the miles, which will total over 10,500 miles per roundtrip.

Flights between Los Angeles and the Costa Rican cities of San Jose and Liberia qualify for double miles. Travel to San Jose must take place between October 31 and December 12, and travel to Liberia must occur between November 1 and December 12. Four flights are available weekly on each route.

These will be the first red-eye flights offered by Alaska. Daily nonstop service begins on September 16. In order to get double miles, you must fly before October 28.

Earn double miles on flights between Seattle and New York

As further incentive, discounted introductory fares are being offered on these flights and there is no limit to how many times you can earn double miles during the promotion. It will take four to six weeks for your Mileage Plan account to be credited.

Perhaps Alaska Airlines customers in California don’t want to travel as far as Costa Rica. You can still earn double miles by flying to the Charm City. Flights between Los Angeles and Baltimore that take place before October 9 will earn twice the miles. Alaska is also offering introductory fares as low as $149 each way.

The first flight on this route departs from Los Angeles on September 9, departing the gate at 10:10 p.m. and arriving in Baltimore at 6:15 a.m. For returns, plan to leave at 7:30 a.m. and touch down at LAX at 10:40 a.m. Make sure to book your ticket online to avoid a $15 service fee for calling or purchasing at the airport.

With all of this flying, it might make sense to find a place to stay. Book a weekend stay at Starwood Hotels & Resorts in North and Latin America for 1,000 miles. Participating properties include Le Meridien, Aloft, Four Points, Westin, The Luxury Collection, W Hotels, Sheraton, St. Regis and Element.

The offer is good until January 31 of next year. A minimum two-night stay is required, and it does not extend to a group rate. There may be blackout dates.

Thanks to some enticing deals from Alaska, you can travel now and earn thousands of miles toward a future vacation.
