Whether you’re in the mood for native bratwurst and sauerkraut, or Oktoberfest just isn’t coming soon enough, it might be time for a trip to Germany. There are many ways to earn bonus miles while you’re there, so you’ll be that much closer to your next excursion by the time you get home. So don your lederhosen and say danke schön for bonus miles.
You’ll get up to triple Lufthansa Miles & More miles by staying at a Best Western in Germany or Luxemborg. Typically you’d earn 500 miles per stay, but through June 30 you’ll get between 1,000 and 1,500 Miles & More miles. Weekend stays earn triple miles, and weekdays get double miles. The offer is valid for up to three stays.
You must register for this promotion prior to booking, and you must have an active Miles & More account before registering. You can book online or by phone, but be sure to reference the promotion if you call. Present your Miles & More card when you check in.
Only Friday and Saturday nights count as weekend stays. A stay means consecutive nights at the hotel. You cannot earn multiple bonus for checking in and out during one stay.
To earn more miles, you could check out of Best Western and check in to Accor Hotels. You’ll get triple airberlin topbonus miles. You don’t have to fly on airberlin to earn the miles, but you must join both topbonus and Le Club Accorhotels. Accor Hotels has locations in 92 countries and about 2,800 hotels between 19 brands. The bonus is good on up to four stays.
You’ll need transport to get from hotel to hotel, so get the most out of your trip and rent a car. You’ll earn some bonus miles too. Sixt, the leading car rental company in Germany, is offering up to 1,000 Miles & More miles per rental.
You must have a Sixt card to receive the bonus. The card you receive is based on your elite status in Lufthansa’s frequent flyer program. If you qualify for an Express, Gold or Platinum Sixt card, you will get 500 bonus miles. If you are lucky enough to be an HON Circle member, you will get 1,000 miles per rental. As your Sixt status increases, so do the discounts. They range from 10 to 20 percent off the rental rate.
