Lately American Express has been offering some great authorized user and spending bonuses for several of their cards. Many of these bonuses are targeted, but it might be worth calling American Express to see if you can get the promotion applied to your account. Below I will go into detail about the authorized user and
Authorized User Bonuses
The concept is simple: get a bonus when you add an authorized user and they meet a minimum spend, up to four times for each eligible account. If you did not receive a targeted email, it may be worth calling Amex as some people reported they were able to get the promotion applied. Below are American Express cards that people have been reporting authorized user bonuses along with the details of the bonus.
Card | Bonus per AU | Minimum Spend (within 3 months) | Maximum Bonus |
---|---|---|---|
Amex Blue Cash EveryDay | $25 | $250 | $100 |
Amex Delta Platinum | 2,500 SkyMiles | $500 | 10,000 |
Amex EveryDay | 1,500 MR points | $150 | 6,000 MR points |
Amex Premier Rewards Gold | 5,000 MR points | $500 | 20,000 MR points |
Amex Platinum | 5,000 MR points | $500 | 20,000 MR points |
Note that for the Amex Platinum, the free AU Gold cards also qualify for the bonus, so you don’t have to pay the AU fees for additional Platinum cards to receive the extra MR points.
