There are a few promos offering big bonuses in the six-digit range this summer. Here’s an overview of how to get those massive miles, and some ideas for spending your earnings. What would you do with that many miles?
First up is Fly to Find a Cure. When you donate at least $100 to the National Foundation for Cancer Research (NFCR), you’ll get a percentage of your donation back as a United MileagePlus bonus. You’ll also receive the standard 10 miles per dollar that every donation nets.
There’s the potential to earn up to 250,000 miles at the highest level of giving. Granted, you’d need to pledge almost $20,000 to get the maximum mile bonus, and that will also put you at the yearly cap for earning miles. This promo has the potential to pump up your rewards miles balance while helping others. Act now because this deal expires on June 30.
Maybe you’d like to take a trip to Hawaii. With just 100,000 United MileagePlus miles, you could fly there and back in first class from the mainland U.S. Or, travel economy class to Europe for only 30,000 miles each way.
Another big offer is from American Airlines. You can earn up to 115,000 AAdvantage miles when you fly to Europe from the U.S., Canada or Mexico before August 7. You’ll earn more miles for each flight you take, and for flying in a premium class. Three round-trip journeys in business or first earns the maximum bonus.
If you want to earn even more AAdvantage miles, and you plan to move in the near future, you can use American HomeMiles to buy, sell or refinance your home, and can get up to 155,000 bonus miles.
Redeem those miles to celebrate your move with a first-class flight to Europe at 62,500 AAdvantage miles each way. There’s no expiration date on this one, so there’s no way to know how long it’ll be around.
What else can you do with all those AAdvantage miles?
For 90,000 miles, you could fly one-way first class to the Caribbean, Mexico or Central America. Or you could fly roundtrip to the Caribbean or Mexico in business class for 100,000 miles. If you want to stick closer to home, you can fly anywhere in the contiguous U.S. in economy class for 20,000 miles each way.
