Benefits of the Capital One Venture Card
The Capital One Venture Card has a valuable list of benefits that any traveler would love.
Earn Unlimited Two Points Per Dollar Spent
This credit card earns an unlimited two points for every dollar that you spend. You don’t have to worry about capacity limits or registering for bonus points, unlike some credit cards. And you don’t have to remember which categories of spend receive bonus points.
No Blackout Dates
When you redeem points for travel, there are no blackout dates. That is one of the primary complaints about hotel and airline credit cards. Simply book your travel and pay for it with the Capital One Venture Card. When the charges hit your account, use the Purchase Eraser up to 90 days after the purchase was made.
I love that you can continue to earn points for 90 days after the fact to offset purchases. This way you can book now and earn later. Even if you can’t use points for the entire purchase amount, you can get closer using this benefit.
TSA PreCheck and Global Entry Reimbursement
Having TSA PreCheck and Global Entry has really improved my travel lifestyle. At $20 per year for Global Entry or $17 per year for TSA PreCheck, they are one of the best travel investments I make each year. Although I break it down into a yearly number, when you sign up for either of these programs, you pay for them five years at a time. Global Entry is $100 and TSA PreCheck is $85.
When you sign up for Global Entry, you automatically receive TSA PreCheck as well. The Capital One Venture Card will reimburse you for up to $100 once every four years. It is one of the few credit cards that have an annual fee of less than $100 that will reimburse you for these awesome programs.
Earn 5x Points at Hotels.com
When you book a hotel room at Hotels.com/venture you will earn 5x points on your reservation.
If you were to transfer those points to an airline partner, that would be the equivalent of up to 7.5 airline miles per dollar spent. If you’re a member of Hotels.com Rewards, you can also double-dip and earn a free hotel night with every 10th booking.
Capital One Adds Two New Travel Partners; 16 Total
The internet almost broke when Capital One announced that the Capital One Venture Card would add transfer partners. With so many other banks reducing benefits for their credit cards, it was surprising that a bank was actually adding such tremendous value. And the fact that they did so without raising the annual fee or imposing restrictions was simply amazing.

How Do Transfers To Airline Partners Work?
When the addition of airline transfer partners was first announced, there were a few questions left unanswered.
Minimum Transfer Amounts
Cardholders will be required to transfer a minimum of 1,000 Capital One Venture points to an airline transfer partner and in 100-mile increments.
How Long Do Transfers Take?
We still don’t know the answer to this question. As soon as the transfer option goes live, data points will start to surface. The transfer times will undoubtedly vary based on airline, but I’m sure they will be in line with the transfer times with other bank points, like Chase Ultimate Rewards, Citi ThankYou, and American Express Membership Rewards.
What’s In Your Wallet?
This tagline has been Capital One’s signature saying for awhile now. And we’ve advocated that travelers have a balanced wallet of an
