More than a few airlines have increased service to Orange County this year. It’s no surprise since the OC is California’s third biggest county, and a gateway to the area’s beautiful beaches and Los Angeles’ world famous attractions. Delta is now on board with this trend, adding four new daily flights into Orange County from its hub in Seattle.
The additional service is slated to start flying on May, 1, 2016, and flights will depart throughout the day.
Delta will be flying its Embraer 175 aircraft, which is great for short hauls like this three-hour trek between John Wayne Airport in Orange County and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. The Embraer 175 may be compact, but it offers first class and Delta Comfort Plus, which gives passengers a bit more leg room, priority boarding, dedicated overhead bin space, free drinks and tastier snacks.
Orange County’s Trending
Although Orange County has been the backdrop for quite a few popular TV shows—including The OC and Arrested Development—you may be wondering why it’s become so popular with travelers.
As a vacation spot, it has a lot to offer, with easy access to nearby beaches, Disneyland and Hollywood. What you might not know is that it’s also an economic hub, making the area a popular destination for business travel as well.
John Wayne Airport in Orange County is only one hour from Los Angeles and two hours from San Diego. So once you’ve seen the sites in LA, you could easily take a day trip to San Diego and check out the world famous San Diego Zoo, go shopping at Horton Plaza or get dinner in Little Italy.
And if you’re visiting in July, snag a ticket to the San Deigo Comic Con, one of the biggest science fiction conventions in the world. You can also visit Sea World San Diego and if you are with your family pay a visit to Legoland, where there are sixty different rides, daily performances and lots of Legos.
There’s much more to do in Orange County, from golfing and whale watching to helicopter tours and jet pack adventures. It’s no wonder that the area is trending right now.
