How to Book Allegiant Air Award Flights

It is essential to get the Allegiant World MasterCard in order to participate in the carrier’s frequent flyer program, myAllegiant. You cannot earn or redeem points without it. The card is similar to a cash back cards, allowing you to redeem points for credit toward Allegiant Air purchases. Points are fixed at a value of one cent each.

As a budget airline, Allegiant charges extra for everything, including carryon and checked bags, seat assignments and in-flight refreshments. It does not partner with any other carriers.

When Should You Use myAllegiant Awards?

You’ll get the most value from your points if you purchase vacation packages from Allegiant that include four or more nights at a hotel or a car rental of seven or more days. If you do, you’ll receive a free companion ticket, which can be worth hundreds of dollars.

The companion ticket does not include any add-ons, such as bags or a seat assignment. Those cost extra.

You don’t have to wait until you have enough points for a flight. You can apply any number of points toward a ticket and pay for the rest in cash.

Allegiant’s website is easy to use and allows you to change and cancel flights as well as hotel and car rental reservations with its “manage travel” options. You probably won’t ever need to call.

How to Search for Allegiant Award Seats Online:

Go to Allegiantair.com. Before booking your flight, link your Allegiant card to your account by clicking on “link your account” in the upper right corner of Allegiant’s landing page:

Once you’ve done that, enter your flight information:

You’ll see a week of available departing flights:

And return flights:

Choose the flights you want and hit “continue” in the lower right corner.

The next page will prompt you to select a hotel. If you want, you can choose one of the featured deals at the top, or use the hotel search function:

If you’ve selected a hotel, hit “continue” at the bottom of the page. If you don’t want to add a hotel to your itinerary, click “I don’t need a hotel”:

Next you’ll be offered ground transportation. You can book an airport shuttle if the service is available, get a rental car or decline altogether.

Either select a ground transportation option and hit “continue,” or click “I don’t need ground transportation” at the bottom of the page.

The next page has special offers for activities at your destination. For Las Vegas, this mostly included performances and rides at casinos.

Either select an activity and hit “continue,” or click on “I don’t need special offers” at the bottom of the page:

You will be asked to confirm or enter your personal information on the next page:

Hit “continue.”

You now have the opportunity to choose a seat.

Remember, seat assignments cost extra. On this flight it ranged from $10 to $45.

Before letting you continue without an assignment, Allegiant warns you that you may not get the seat you want if you wait until you get to the airport:

If you do not want to pay to reserve a seat, hit “yes, continue.”

Next you’ll be given the option to add bags and priority boarding. Of course everything costs extra:

How to Confirm and Book Allegiant Award Flights Online:

Now you’re finally ready to complete your booking. You’ll see a summary of your itinerary and the total charges:

You’ll be asked to confirm or fill in your payment information. Click on “purchase my trip” when you’re done.

Phone Booking Tips

Allegiant’s customer service and phone booking number is 1-702-505-8888. It’s open from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Pacific time.

Since you can do just about anything you need to online, you probably won’t have to call. Allegiant charges a phone booking fee of $14.99, so it’s best to book online.
