Millions of Americans take cruises each year where they settle into a small cabin on a big ship, and are wined and dined as they set sail to a series of fun vacations. If it’s fun to do that on a boat, I figured it would be incredible to book a suite on the largest airliner in the world, the double-decker Airbus A380.

Recently, I decided to spend over 48 hours en-route from Delhi India to New York (via Singapore and Frankfurt Germany) as First Class Suites class passenger of Singapore Airlines, which is widely regarded as one of the finest airlines in the world. The Suites class of service is beyond international first class, as each passenger receives his or her own private suite with a door.

First class suites take the premium cabin experience to the next level. Passengers can enjoy over-the-top luxury with privacy doors, proper beds, gourmet food, excellent service and many entertainment options.

The Airbus A380 is a massive wide-body jet that is the world’s largest passenger airliner. Since we last reported on who was flying it, Asiana Airlines and Qatar Airways have added the A380 to their fleets.

Etihad Airways originally announced that it would start flying the first Airbus A380 between New York and Abu Dhabi on December 1. But that date has been moved up to November 23, which is just in time for Thanksgiving weekend and the 2015 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

There’s change in the air this fall, as Air China is expanding its reach with a new route between Newark and Beijing. The route will include four nonstop flights a week, starting on October 26. Air China is not new to the New York City area, and already flies twice a day from JFK to Beijing.
