Elite Skyteam members looking to unwind at Hong Kong International Airport can now head on over to the new SkyTeam Exclusive Lounge, where they can eat, drink and be merry, whether they are on a short layover or an all-nighter.
The lounge is pretty roomy, weighing in at 1,000 square feet, and its comprehensive design is feature heavy, and includes everything from the usual amenities like showers and works stations, to more unusual ones like a Living Wall and a Yoga Room.
This is the first SkyTeam Exclusive Lounge in China, and only the fourth in the world. The others are located in London, Sydney and Istanbul. It is open to all Skyteam first and business class passengers and Elite Plus members.
Skyteam Lounge Life in Hong Kong
Yes, you will find all the usual amenities, but there are certain aspects of its design that sets it apart from other lounges –the Living Wall, which is becoming a staple in all of SkyTeams exclusive lounges. Its a actually a living breathing wall made up of 50 varieties of plants, which might be just what tired travelers need to relax and unwind.
Getting back to nature is great but food is a driving force and the lounge has no shortage of delicious fare, with a hot and cold buffet loaded with all sorts of international cuisine, but you can also head over to the Noodle bar, where you can get Asian-fueled dishes cooked to order. Wine can be an important part of the foodie equation, so there is a wine bar and regular bar too.
Yoga can be a great way to relax, recharge and get out some of the stiffness that might go along with long flights, but whether your into Hatha or Vinyasa yoga, doing it in the airport can be awkward. Skyteam took this into consideration, so if you want to break out into a pose, there is a Yoga Room, where you can get your yoga on. In the wellness area you can grab a shower or relax in special chairs.
The lounge also includes a laptop bar, so you can get some work in, or if you’re going laptop free you can use the PCs and Apple computers they have set up for guests, along with printers and scanners. And, yes there is free WiFi.
